Youth desk and police address safety issues in Primrose Sector One

Officers from the Primrose Police Station, together with the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, visited Marlands to raise awareness about crimes in the area.

Crime statistics in Marlands remain a concern for both the Primrose police and residents.

Crimes of concern to police include house robberies, hijackings and theft of motor vehicles.

To try and tackle the problem, members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, with the help of officers from the Primrose Police Station, recently visited Marlands to warn the community about these crime trends.

Approximately 350 safety tip flyers were distributed to the community during the door-to-door awareness campaign.

“Police and members of the youth desk also interacted with residents, warning them about the top crimes taking place in the sector.

“We hope our community will take them into consideration and that the tips will help in their time of need,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
