City of Ekurhuleni to consult the public on its rental housing
Closing date for these comments is September 22 at 4 pm.
The City of Ekurhuleni is conducting public consultations for council-owned rental housing stock as resolved by council on July 25.
The consultative process is to discuss, among others:
• Rates paid by pensioners
• Paying tenants and defaulting tenants
• Payment Policy Escalation of rent payable is capped at a maximum margin of 5.9 per cent per annum for 2020/2021 and 2021/2022.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, public participation will be done through syndicated live community radio broadcast and the City’s social media platforms on September 2 from 6pm to 7pm.
The syndicate broadcast will be live and streamed on Kasie FM, EK FM and Eden Radio.
