In the spirit of service and unity, Better Primrose continues to live out the legacy of Nelson Mandela by making every day a Mandela Day.

This weekend, the dedicated group will do what they do best: rolling up their sleeves to clean and restore parts of Primrose, reinforcing their commitment to building a safer, cleaner, and more dignified environment for all residents.

“Better Primrose has become a beacon of hope in this area. Our hands-on approach goes beyond symbolic gestures; it is about sustained action. From clearing littered streets to tackling neglected public spaces, we want to see our neighbourhood thrive,” said Lisa Cairns, Better Primrose’s marketing representative.

She said that as part of Mandela Day, this weekend’s activities will focus on key areas across Primrose, where illegal dumping and general neglect have taken a toll.

In addition to cleaning, Better Primrose will also be extending their efforts to Rest-A-While, where they will carry out much-needed painting and maintenance work. The initiative is part of their broader mission to not only clean but also rehabilitate spaces that serve vulnerable members of the community.

She thanked everyone who has stepped forward to make the day possible. She called on community members and businesses who would like to join in and be part of the change.

Whether through volunteering time, donating materials, or simply maintaining cleanliness in their own spaces, every contribution counts.
