New prefect team takes leadership roles at Assumption Convent School

Assumption Convent School has announced its new student leadership team for the 2026/2027 academic year, celebrating a group of learners selected to represent the school and serve their fellow students.
Taking on student leadership is both an honour and a responsibility, and the school has expressed its pride in the students who have been chosen for the various leadership positions.
The newly appointed leaders were recognised for their dedication, positive attitude and commitment to the school’s values.

The school encouraged the new prefect team to approach their roles with empathy, integrity and a spirit of service, reminding them that effective leadership is about supporting and uplifting others.
“We have no doubt that you will guide our student body with pride, passion, and purpose over the next year,” said Marinella Sousa, marketing manager at Assumption Convent School.
The leadership team comprises students responsible for a range of areas, reflecting the school’s focus on academic excellence, student wellbeing, social responsibility, faith and community.
The school congratulated all the newly appointed leaders and wished them well as they begin their leadership journey.
The new leaders are:

Alessandra Barecchia, head of Rosaria House
Yannick Beya, head of Paulist House
Gianna Lopes, head of wellness
Megan Gerber, head of academics
Tanesha Barnes, head of administration
Trich Semakula, head of social responsibility
Yinhla Ngobeni, deputy head prefect
Ashleigh Knipe, head prefect
Anashe Mautsa, head of religion.
