Germiston Stadium to host Mayhem Cup
Mayhem Cup is a five-a-side annual soccer event that usually takes place on November 26 around the City Of Ekurhuleni.
This year’s edition of the tournament will take place at the Germiston Stadium on Sunday, November 26.
Mayhem Cup attracts 24 teams from all over Gauteng and South Africa as a whole.
Current champions are Football Flava from Soweto who won the cup twice back-to-back in 2015 in Boksburg and in 2016, also in Boksburg.
Paballo Matlamela the event manager, said Mayhem Cup aims to leave a trail of hope for current and upcoming soccer stars.
“We want them to keep striving for their dreams and aspirations in the soccer industry so that they will become champions one day – through Mayhem Cup,” Matlamela told Kathorus MAIL.
The teams from Kathorus area that are going to take part in the tournament are as follow:
Buhle Park United from Buhle Park, Five Geniuses from Vosloorus, Amajita from Thokoza, Spirit Chasers from Thokoza as well as Kings of Turf from Katlehong.
Matlamela invites community members of Katlehong to come in their numbers.
“I would like people to come to this event. There will be lots of entertainment for them – including famous and local DJs as well as some freestylers,” Matlamela said.
