A passionate local business woman

All the women praised Dlamini for the wonderful contribution she has made to their lives and wished her only the best in life.

Mbali Dlamini’s passion for make-up has made her the successful woman she is today.

Dlamini (32), the mother of a 12-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter, is a single parent who has made it in life against all odds.

She shared with Kathorus MAIL and businesswomen at Ke-distilane multicultural village her story of success.

“I started at the age of nine helping my mother to bake cakes. From there I became a very busy woman because there were so many things that I was doing at the same time. I helped with the baking, taking orders and deliveries if needs be.

“There was a time in life at school when I became a model and singer at the same time. I used to go to modelling school and come back to sing in a church choir, I was 18 years old at the time.

“In 2007 I did a course in make-up. I have worked with different famous artists whom I cannot start mentioning because I can’t mention the few and leave out the others. Today with my talent I can work anywhere in the world.

“Coming back to today, I had to give back to the community not necessarily because I have a lot but because I wanted to see Kathorus women in business all under one roof and getting advice on how to grow their business and use profit wisely. I am disappointed due to the small number of people who turned up. I was expecting about 18 exhibitors who confirmed to be coming but only six pitched up,” said Dlamini.

All the women praised Dlamini for the wonderful contribution she has made to their lives and wished her only the best in life.

One of the women, Nonhlanhla Skhosana, praised Mbali. “Mbali is not only beautiful outside; she is also beautiful inside. What affects us young women is jealousy. We don’t want to see others be successful in life but Mbali is different. She wants to see everyone making it in life. As a Miss RSA plus-size finalist, I go around the country doing my job, and I must always look beautiful. Everywhere I go, Mbali is always there doing make-up, making sure that I look beautiful. And she does not charge me a single cent for doing all that,” said Skhosana.
