Senior citizens get a free health check

Metro looks after senior citizens.

Those who attended the Older Persons Wellness Day, in Daveyton, recently, took full advantage of the free services provided by the metro to have their blood pressure and eyesight tested.

“Access to health care is a constitutional right for all,” said Sam Modiba, metro spokesperson. “Leading a healthy lifestyle should not be regarded as a luxury, but a necessity for all, including the senior citizens of Ekurhuleni.”

Over 100 senior residents from Daveyton, KwaThema, Tsakane and Duduza attended the event and had the opportunity to have their blood pressure, eyesight and even the wellness of their feet tested.

Senior citizens took part in an aerobics session, at the Older Persons Wellness Day, in Duduza, recently.
