The Primrose CPF will be holding a blood drive on July 27.
It will take place outside Eastern Suburbs Pharmacy, in Rietfontein Road, Primrose, from 9am to 2pm.
The community is urged to support the event and the CPF is challenging residents to donate blood to see how many units can be donated in one day.
To donate blood you must:
- Weigh 50kg or more.
- Be between the ages of 16 and 65 years.
- Enjoy good health.
- Lead a sexually safe lifestyle.
Studies show that eight out of every 10 people will need donated blood at some point in their life.
The Primrose CPF and the Primrose SAPS will also be holding an awareness drive during the course of the event.
So come along and sign up for the database which keeps the community informed about what is going on in the area, issues warnings and lookouts.
For more information contact Wendy Morgan on 072 963 9675.
The CPF warns the community of smash-and-grabs taking place at the intersection of Main Reef and Shamrock roads, and at the robot near the Caledonian Hotel, at the intersection of Main Reef and Cemetery roads.
Do not leave your valuables in sight, rather lock them in the boot.
There has also been an increase in the theft of motor vehicles – do not park your vehicle on the pavement outside your house.
They are easy targets and encourage criminals.
The CPF is also warning the elderly not to trust hobos and beggars.
Do not feed them or even give them water, they are using this as a way to check out easy targets.
