The Primrose SAPS Women Network joined other women in the Germiston cluster and held a Women’s Month celebration, in Palmridge, recently.
The women were reminding one another that, before being police officers, they are women.
“We were empowering one another as women and raising awareness on issues that face women in their everyday lives,” said Capt Patricia Fakude, from the Primrose SAPS.
The women engaged in issues concerning their health, relationships, working conditions as well as empowering one another and working together to do more in the community.
Various female speakers in the cluster gave talks to inspire the women who, for a bit of fun, dressed up and held a hat competition.
“It was just a day of sharing ideas and engaging in important conversations with other women in the cluster,” added Fakude.
