Smokie is coming to town.
The internationally successful British pop group will be touring South Africa from September 26 to October 6 as part of their “Take a Minute World Tour”.
With chart-topping hits like Living Next Door to Alice, Lay Back in the Arms of Someone, Mexican Girl, For a Few Dollars, Needles and Pins and If You Think You Know How to Love Me, and constant tours, Smokie is one of the most popular bands in the world today.
As part of their world tour Smokie will be visiting Moscow, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Norway, Spain, Denmark, Greenland, Scandinavia, Australia and South Africa.
Lefra Productions are the South African Promoters and they have organised two of the shows to take place on our doorstep, at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena, on October 4 and 5, at 8pm.
Frans Swart, CEO of Lefra Productions and promoter of the SA tour, said he is very excited about Smokie visiting South Africa again.
“We organised two previous Smokie tours to South Africa a few years back and it was a sold out success, with many extra shows that had to be scheduled,” he said.
“Smokie is one of those groups who understand how to entertain their audiences – from young said they cannot wait to come to South Africa.
“This is our favourite country and it has always been a wonderful experience to come to South Africa, said founder member of Smokie Terry Uttley.
“The people of South Africa like our music and it is such a warm feeling to get such wonderful support.”
