A 25-year-old man was arrested for being in Kernick Road, in Sunnyridge, recently, for being in possession of stolen property.
Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, informed the GCN that a team of dedicated detectives from the Boksburg North SAPS were responsible for the successful arrest.
“The two female detectives were investigating a case of cellphone theft, in Boksburg when a woman whom they arrested informed them that she had sold the stolen cellphone to a man living in Sunnyridge,” said Maome.
“The detectives arrived in Sunnyridge and found the man in possession of eight cellphones and driver’s licences belonging to different people.
“The man failed to explain what he was doing and where the cellphones and driver’s licences came from.”
The suspect was detained in the Primrose Police Station holding cells.
Maome said the man appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and his case was remanded for further investigation.
