The Primrose police arrested two men, aged 29 and 42, for possession of drugs, last Friday.
They were patrolling and doing stop-and-search operations when they noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle in Rietfontein Road.
The police officers approached the car but the driver of the vehicle drove off.
The officers gave chase in their vehicle and ordered him to stop.
They then searched the vehicle and its two occupants.
During the search they found some powder, believed to be the drug Kat, wrapped in plastic.
“Our police arrested the two men who confirmed that it was indeed Kat,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“We appeal to our community to refrain from drug consumption, as drugs are harmful and, furthermore, as the police, we will keep on arresting people with drugs.”
