Primrose police are warning members of the community to be aware and alert, given the rise in vehicle theft and the theft of things out of vehicles.
Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, said: “We, as the police, are experiencing a lot of challenges with community members parking their vehicles outside, on the pavements.
“They are also leaving their valuables in their vehicles, where the items are clearly visible.
“Our community members must please remove all their valuable items from their vehicles when they are parked, as these items attract the attention of criminals.
“We also urge the public to, whenever possible, park their vehicles in a secure area, like a garage or carport.”
The community can assist the police by reporting any suspicious behaviour or criminal activities to the Primrose Patrol Vehicles on 071 675 6864/5 for sector one, 071 675 6866/7 for sector two and 071 675 6868/9 for sector three.
