The Primrose SAPS recently arrest two men, aged 33 and 43, on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The men were arrested in the Makause and Delport informal settlements, respectively.
The Delport arrest was made after Primrose police received a report from a woman who claimed the suspect had assaulted her and stabbed her with a beer bottle.
“The victim claimed that the suspect had demanded money from her and, when she said she had none, he had assaulted her,” said Const Styles Maome, communication officer for the Primrose police.
The Makause arrest was made when Primrose police received a report from a woman, claiming that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, following an argument.
“The victim told police her boyfriend had assaulted her with a hammer, following an argument,” Maome said.
Maome appealed to the community to seek professional help when they encounter problems in their relationships.
Both suspects were detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
The cases were reminded for bail applications.
