A 33-year-old man has been arrested on charges of domestic violence, following the assault of his girlfriend, last Monday.
The incident followed an argument sparked by the victim wanting to remove clothing from the man’s home.
“The victim had wanted to remove the clothes when she found out that her boyfriend was seeing someone else, but the accused did not want her to leave,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The man was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station and will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
Maome added: “We are right in the middle of 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Child Abuse.
“Some men choose to ignore this and continue to treat women and children as objects.
“These men will be severely punished by the law.”
