A 21-year-old man was arrested last Tuesday, November 26, in connection with a robbery that took place on Lower Main Reef Road.
The arrest was made after a man stopped an unmarked patrol vehicle and told the officers that he had been held up by three men.
He claimed that the men had approached him as he walked towards the Geldenhuis Train Station and demanded that he give them his money and cellphone.
The men took two cellphones, as well as R27, from him.
The officers immediately began to search for the three men described by the victim and were able to find and arrest one of them.
The suspect was taken to the Primrose Police Station following the arrest.
“As the festive season has arrived, we encourage our community members not to walk alone; whenever possible, rather walk in groups, as it is far safer,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose Police.
