Multi-vehicle collision leaves one dead
Broken down truck on the N3 leads to accident.
A person died in a multi-vehicle accident in Germiston, last Saturday.
It is alleged that a truck had broken down on the N3 highway, at the M2 split in Germiston, at about 8am, and three other vehicles collided with it.
A truck crashed into the back of the broken down truck, followed by a Hyundai bakkie, which collided with the second truck, and a third truck, which smashed into the back of the Hyundai bakkie.
The driver of the bakkie was killed, while his brother, who was sitting next to him, suffered only minor injuries.
The driver of the truck that is thought to have broken down initially, was left with critical head injuries and both patients were transported to hospital for treatment.
The details leading up to the collision are still under investigation.
