Alleged rapist nabbed

The Primrose SAPS have arrested a man for rape.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 24-year-old man in the Marathon informal settlement on a charge of rape.

The arrest was made when a woman came to the Primrose Police Station to lay a charge of rape against her boyfriend.

The woman told officers that she had been home alone when she heard a knock on the door.

When she answered the door her boyfriend pushed his way inside, pushed her onto the bed and forced himself on her.

“As police we want to send a strong warning to the community to refrain from committing these kind of crimes.

“When your partner says no it means no.

“You cannot force yourself on anyone, even your partner,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for a bail application.
