Man arrested for domestic violence

Man arrested in Makause informal settlement for domestic violence.

A 28-year-old man from the Makause informal settlement was recently arrested on charges of domestic violence by the Primrose SAPS.

The arrest was made after police received a complaint from a woman who claimed her boyfriend had assaulted her.

The woman explained to officers that her boyfriend had attacked her after he saw her standing with another man.

Her boyfriend accused her of having an affair with the man, and though she tried to explain that she wasn’t having an affair her boyfriend continued to attack her.

Officers immediately began to follow leads on the man’s last known location.

The man was found and arrested, and will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.

“We strongly condemn such barbaric actions.

“Talking and standing with a member of the opposite sex, who is not your partner, does not mean you are having an affair,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
