A 53-year-old man has been arrested in Pitts Avenue, Sunnyridge, on charges of sexual assault.
The arrest, which took place on Wednesday,was made after a thorough investigation by the Primrose police and the Provincial Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
The investigation began in November, last year, when the victim (a minor) came to the police and reported the ongoing assault.
She told police that the attacks had begun in 2009 and continued till 2013.
The victim explained to officers that the accused would pull her close to him and pretend to tickle her stomach, he would then move his hands from her stomach to her breasts and then to her private parts.
She added that the accused had also taken her hand and placed it on his private parts and even forced himself between her thighs.
She had not reported the matter to police earlier,as the alleged assaulter had warned her not to tell anyone.
The man remains in custody at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
