The Primrose SAPS recently arrested two men, aged 26 and 28, in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Pretoria Road, Primrose.
The arrests were made after the victim of the robbery came to the Primrose Police Station to lay charges against his attackers.
He explained to officers that he had been walking to the Total garage with a friend.
During the walk he felt the urge to relieve himself, so he went to the far side of the road to do so.
It was then that he was approached by two men.
One of the men grabbed him from behind and, when he tried to fight back, the second man pulled out a knife while the first pulled out a firearm.
They took the victim’s backpack, which contained R500, his driver’s licence, ID book and two cellphones.
The victim was able to describe his attackers to officers, as he has seen them before in the Makause informal settlement.
The police were able to trace the men and arrest them.
They appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was postponed without bail, for further investigation.
