Dealing liquor without a licence

Primrose police arrest a man for selling liquor without a licence.

The Primrose police recently arrested a man, aged 26, for selling liquor without a liquor licence in the Delport informal settlements.

“This happened while our police were patrolling in the informal settlement.

“They heard a loud noise and went to investigate.

“When they arrived at the spot they found a large number of people drinking alcohol.

“Our police asked the people where they bought the liquor and they pointed to the tavern nearby,” said the communications officer for the Primrose SAPS, Const Styles Maome.

The police then entered the premises and found crates and boxes full of liquor.

They asked to see the liquor licence but the person who was selling the alcohol could not produce one.

The man was arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and the case was postponed for trial.
