Primrose police recently arrested a suspect, aged 29, for pointing a firearm.
The victim, who is the suspect’s girlfriend, visited the station and laid a charge of pointing a firearm against him.
The victim alleged that they were at their home, in the Marathon informal settlement, when she asked her boyfriend why he had sold his clothes while she went on to visit to KwaZulu-Natal.
The suspect allegedly became angry and assaulted her; he then pulled out a firearm and pointed it at her.
The police went to the suspect’s home but could not find the firearm.
He was, nevertheless arrested, and taken to the Primrose Police Station, where he was detained.
On profiling the suspect with the micro connectivity device, it was revealed that the suspect is wanted in connection with a case of housebreaking and theft, that happened in 2008, in Colesberg.
“The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and the case was postponed for a bail application; and he will be handed over to the Colesberg SAPS for the 2008 case,” said the communication officer of the Primrose SAPS, Sgt Styles Maome.
