A case of culpable homicide has been registered at the Elsburg Police Station after an accident on April 27.
The case was opened by an EMPD officer after he attended a motor vehicle accident at about 1am, on the N17 East, in Wadeville.
It is alleged that a blue Subaru crashed into the pillars of the Osborn Road bridge.
“The vehicle was torn apart and pieces scattered all over the highway on impact,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.
“It then caught fire and burned beyond recognition.”
Two occupants were declared dead on the scene and taken to the government mortuary.
“The driver and another occupant were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment,” said Phooko.
