SAPS visit children during Child Protection Week

Primrose police visited three of the local informal settlements as part of Child Protection Week.

Child Protection Week was celebrated recently.

As part of the project, the Primrose police visited three of the local informal settlements.

Members of the Primrose SAPS were accompanied by the Crime Prevention Youth Desk and Victim Empowerment volunteers paid a visit to the children of these informal settlements as part of Child Protection Week.

The children were taught about their rights and the important numbers to call should they find themselves in trouble.

To end off each event the children were given sweets, donated by the Chubby Chums Oganisation, and toys, donated by the Avril Elizabeth Home.

“We thank both sponsors for their contribution to our projects during Child Protection Week,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
