He has left his own country and started fresh in a new one, in an effort to realise his dreams.
Anslem Eze (26), aka Legacy, is a hip hop artist intent on becoming a big star in the industry.
The young man, who was born in Nigeria and attended school and university there (he studied biochemistry) said: “Since I was a young boy, I have always enjoyed music.
“At school I would perform doing Afropop and hip hop and I knew this is what I wanted to be doing as a career.
“I came to South Africa to establish myself as a musician, as it is very hard to achieve something like that in Nigeria.”
The Driehoek resident is set to release his first single, titled Hummer, soon. It features the popular SA artist, AB Crazy.
Although he is not signed to a record label yet, he hopes the single will kick-start his career.
“I will be paying for the release myself and have been contacting a number of radio stations to try to organise airplay,” he said.
The single is due to be released in August and he will release his first album, called Street Hustle, in November.
The album will feature 11 tracks and he has worked with four different producers on it.
“Once that’s been released then comes the music video,” Legacy said.
“I am in talks with a top production company, as I believe you should do things properly and I want a music video that is top quality.”

Legacy is inspired by the likes of 50 Cent and Eminen, and hopes to be as big as they are one day.
His music is versatile and he writes and composes all the tracks himself.
“I would love to collaborate with different South African artists,” he said.
When he is not busy with his musical career, Legacy loves to play football and read.
“I want to represent African hip hop as an average African and take my dream to the next level,” he said.
Legacy will stage a performance at Kalabash, in President Street, on July 26, so if you are into hip hop be sure not to miss this show.
