The Germiston City New received a call from a disgruntled Elsburg resident.
JP Marais told the GCN of a serious water leak that is plaguing Rademeyer Street; it has become so bad that it is flooding several driveways.
“I have reported the matter to the metro several times, but I am yet to receive any assistance,” he said.
The GCN reached out to the metro for answers and received a statement from the department of communications and brand management’s Themba Gadebe.
“The 20mm steel connection running in a driveway is badly corroded, with a few clamps on it,” he said.
“It needs to be replaced.
“We are currently unable to use the services of contractors to assist, however, the matter will be attended to as soon as possible.”
With no timeline provided on when the repair may take place, all the residents of Elsburg can do is wait.
