The Primrose police recently arrested a 25-year-old man, following his attempts to steal a length of copper cable.
The man was caught trying to steal the cable near the Delport informal settlement, by a patrolling security guard.
“The security guard noticed the man digging and approached him,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“When he reached the suspect he saw that he had dug up a length of copper cable.
“He arrested the man and called the Primrose police to come and collect him.”
Officers arrived on scene and transported the man to the Primrose Police Station, where he was formally charged.
