Members of the Laidback Bikers Motorcycle Club braved the chill, last Sunday, to bring smiles to the faces of residents at Filadeldia Ark, in Pretoria.
The bikers set out on a charity ride from Mintys Sasol, in Bedfordview, to Pretoria, to donate about eight tons of goods to the charity.
Included in the donations were food, clothing, bedding, cleaning materials and tools.
The motorcycle club, based in Primrose, has been in existence since 2012 and currently has 30 members.
President Mike da Silva and First Lady and secretary Sue told the GCN that they are a family-orientated club.
“We are always looking for new members so, if you are looking for a friendly, relaxed ride, you are welcome to join us,” Mike said.
He added that the members try to do charity rides at least every one to two months and that they support various charities.
For this event, the club had a number of sponsors who assisted them by donating goods to the cause.
Mike thanked all of them for their support.
The sponsors are: Paint Trade Meadowdale; Pick n Pay Primrose; Aquazania Waters; Central Building Supplies; Road Lab; Torque Racing; Namaspaar Lounge; Commercial Pawn 24; EFPS; Mintys Sasol; Rina’s Creations; M&S Magic; Temaris Branding; Inner City Inks and all the members of the club.
The bikers enjoyed the ride and felt humbled by the gratitude of the Filadeldia Ark residents.
