The metro informs residents and businesses in parts of Germiston that it is aware of the electricity outage affecting the area and that engineers are working on resolving the problem.
Parts of the Germiston CBD, Germiston West, Heriotdale and surrounding area have been without power since the early hours of this morning, due to a cable fault.
“Technicians are currently working at locating the exact source of the problem, in order to initiate repairs,” said metro spokesman Themba Gadebe.
“We are, however, expecting power to be restored by 3pm, this afternoon.”
The metro advises residents to treat the electricity network as live at all times.
