The Primrose police had their hands full with the arrest of 50 suspects during the week of August 11 to 17.
Arrests were made for various crimes, including:
- Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 9
- Common assault: 2
- Common robbery: 4
- Theft: 2
- Rape: 2
- Drunk and disorderly in public: 7
- Soliciting/importuning for the purpose of sexual immorality: 2
- Possession of drugs: 12
- Reckless and negligent driving: 1
- Contempt of court: 2
- Illegal immigrants: 7.
“The station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanks everyone who contributed to these arrests; he is still determined to eradicate crime in Primrose,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Style Maome.
The suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
