Man uses hammer to assault woman.

The Primrose police were able to trace and arrest a man accused of the brutal assault of a woman.

Officers were alerted to the incident when the victim came to the Primrose Police Station to lay charges against her attacker.

The woman explained to officers that she had been at a local tavern when a man approached her.

“He asked to speak to her, she agreed, he then proposed to her.

“She refused,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

It was then that the accused is reported to have attacked her.

“It is then claimed that he then went home and collected a hammer to continue his assault of the woman,” added Maome.

The woman sustained serious injuries during the accused’s alleged attacked.

The man appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court following his arrest, where his cased was postponed.

“We are appealing to the community to stop abusing woman and child,” said Maome.
