Man arrested for rape of minor

Eighteen year old arrested for the rape of an eight year old.

Primrose police recently arrested an 18-year-old man in the Marathon informal settlement, for the rape of a minor.

The arrest was made after the mother of the eight-year-old girl opened a formal case against the accused at the Primrose Police Station.

The woman explained that she had been approached by her daughter’s friend.

The friend claimed that the daughter had something to tell her mother but was scared her mother would be angry.

The woman asked her daughter and assured her she wouldn’t be angry.

“The daughter told her mother she had been approached by the accused and claimed he had stuck his tongue in her mouth and his fingers in her private parts.

“He then asked the girl to sleep with him.

“The child, of course, refused his advances and he left,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The young girl was taken to the clinic, where she underwent a medical examination after her ordeal.

Officers were able to trace the suspect, using the young girl’s description, and he was arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
