On Friday, August 22, the Primrose police arrested a 41-year-old man at the corner of Canna and Heath roads.
The man was first arrested and charge was changed to possession of a stolen vehicle.
The arrest was made when police officers, investigating a case of car theft, visited an address in the Jerusalem informal settlement, in Boksburg.
Officers questioned a man who was initially arrested on a charge of vehicle theft, and he took them to a panel beater, in Primrose, where they discovered a vehicle which had been stolen in Hlogotlou, in Limpopo.
The colour of the vehicle had already been changed from white to yellow and the panel beater was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
“We are appealing to our community to be careful when they enter into contracts or buy items from or with other people,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“Be sure to verify all the details, as you may unwittingly find yourself in trouble with the law,”
The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was remanded for plea and trial.
