Women’s Month comes to an end

Police lead Women’s Month march through the streets of Primrose.

Sirens could be heard in the streets of Primrose, on Saturday, August 30, but it was not a crime scene.

The noise signalled a march through the streets, to raise awareness of the challenges faced by women.

Members of the Primrose police, social development, EMPD, Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, Family Court, Primrose CPF and Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk, as well as local councillor Tania Campbell, joined forces to celebrate the end of Women’s Month in the metro.

As the group marched, they took time to hand out safety tip pamphlets to women along the route.

The march ended at the corner of Shamrock and Main Reef roads, where a marquee had been set up.

The group, consisting mostly of women, then listened to motivational talks, all with women in mind.
