Metro continues to monitor the water interruption situation

Metro aware of water outages in Germiston and Bedfordview.

The metro wishes to assure residents of Germiston and Bedfordview that it is aware of the current water supply interruption in these areas.

The metro is closely monitoring developments that are being implemented by Rand Water to remedy the situation.

Affected areas include parts of Bedfordview, Primrose, Marlands, Sunnyridge, Solheim, Symhurst, Gerdview, Fishers’ Hill and Homestead, as well as a small part of Witfield, Dawnview, Simmerfield and Wychwood.

The municipality has deployed water tankers to schools, hospitals, the old age homes and shopping centres in the area.

There are also tankers roving around the affected areas.

Residents who do have water are urged to use it sparingly.

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused by the unplanned water interruption.

  1. All the talk about which areas are affected by the water shortages but the more pertinent question is:
How long will the water shortages still last? What is currently being done to restore the water supply?

  2. Oh and why is the Metro still watering their Gardens? Surely that should be placed on hold until this is all sorted, you know be a leader!!

  3. Why hasn’t the Metro told the residents what the Rand Water Developments are, and exactly when the water will be restored? They have lied to the residents, saying the water will be restored by Tuesday afternoon which did not happen. My big bug bear is the continual lies from Rand Water and the Metros, giving multiple deadlines for fixing their own anc, bee induced disaster, which merrily pass by. These disgusting people have absolute contempt for the rate payers. At Rand Water there is a media woman called Pride Mguli who last issued a media release 2 years ago and has been noticable by her absence during this whole debacle. As has the board chairman an underachiever called Mosotho Petlane. The Rand Water website contains not a single reference to this water disaster, nor an apology to the public.

  4. It is interesting that all the areas mentioned without water are predominantly white areas, and one wonders at the significance of this. Also, the Metro is lying about the tankers, there are hardly any, and no so-called roving tankers. Why haven’t these fools told residents where they are to be found?
