Residents in the Sunnyridge had the opportunity to voice their concerns last weekend.
The DA’s parliamentary leader, Mmusi Maimane, DA shadow deputy minister for water and sanitation Leon Basson and constituency political head for constituency, into which Ward 92 – Sunnyridge – falls, Mike Waters, addressed a meeting at Sunnyridge Primary School.
The meeting of course focused on the water supply crisis in Germiston.
Maimane made note of the lack of a back-up plan from both Rand Water and the metro.
He also voiced his concern that foreign investors would be put off South Africa if the water and electricity problems plaguing the country were not addressed and solved.
“Who would want to invest in a country with no water and electricity?” he asked.
At the meeting, the DA asked those in attendance to sign a petition which would be delivered to the metro’s offices.
“We will march and deliver the petition,” said Maimane.
