Do you feel an electronic system will be better for account payments?

Metro urges residents to pay their accounts online.

In a meeting today (Thursday), in Alberton, the metro plans to demonstrate how quick and easy it is for residents to pay their municipal accounts, using a reliable platform known as e-Siyakhokha.

“A simple click on www.e-siyakhokha.co.za opens a new world of convenience in terms of paying the municipal account just at a click of a button,” Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe said.

Member of mayoral committee for finance Clr Moses Makwakwa will demonstrate this easy payment option using one of the service stations that will be available for the public to learn how to register on the online platform.

“It is an increasing concern that we find more people still complaining about not receiving statements,” said Gadebe.

“The e-Siyakhokha Services website is accessible 24-hours a day, throughout the year.

“When a user accesses it, an encrypted and completely secure connection is made between their browser and the e-Siyakhokha Services servers, ensuring that the experience is safe and secure.”

The main benefit of this system is that the user is able to receive their municipal account statement earlier than by postal delivery.

“This, therefore, eliminates the risk of late payment, which incurs interest,” added Gadebe.

“The online platform further enables you to future date your payments and control your cash flow.”

This and other convenient products will be unveiled by MMC Makwakwa today.
