Man assaulted for talking to ex-girlfriend

Man attacked by three assailants after attempting to talk to his ex-girlfriend.

Two men was arrested in the Makause informal settlement and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The arrests were made on Monday, October 6, after the victim reported the attack to officers at the Primrose Police Station.

The complainant alleged that he had met his ex-girlfriend while he was walking in the informal settlement.

She was accompanied by her new boyfriend and two of his friends.

The victim asked to speak to his ex-girlfriend, to discuss when he could retrieve the clothes she had taken when they had broken up.

Her boyfriend would not allow them to talk and dragged the woman away.

A short time later the three friends returned and started hitting the victim with bricks and a hammer.

Officer were able to trace one of the accused and arrested him.
