Possible flooding, fires and thunderstorms on the cards for Gauteng this weekend

On Thursday many Gauteng residents were left shocked as a freak sand storm swept through many parts of the province.

This has led many to wonder the weather has in-store this weekend.

The South African Weather Service has released the following warnings for Gauteng:

• Flooding:

Localised flooding is expected in the northern part of the province.

• Veld Fire Conditions:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in parts of Gauteng.

• Severe thunderstorms:

The severe thunderstorm may bring with them strong damaging winds, and even hail.

Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
