Oscar Pistorius sentenced
Judge Thokozile Masipa has sentenced Oscar Pistorius to five years in jail.
Convicted killer Oscar Pistorius was today (Tuesday) sentenced to five years in prison.
The judgement was handed down by Judge Thokozile Masipa in the High Court in Pretoria.
Masipa ruled that Pistorius was gulity of culpable homicide on September 12, in the death of Reeva Steenkamp, who he shot and killed on Valentine’s Day 2013.
Pistorius was also found guilty of the negligent discharging of a firearm at Tasha’s restaurant in Melrose Arch, for which he received a sentence of three years imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years.
The two terms will be served concurrently.
