The Primrose police were kept on their toes from October 6 to 12, with a total of 42 arrests.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes in the Primrose area, including:
- possession of drugs: 4;
- common assault: 1;
- assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 8;
- theft: 4;
- intimidation: 1;
- murder: 3;
- housebreaking and theft: 2;
- possession of suspected stolen property: 1;
- drunk and disorderly behaviour: 7;
- dealing in/selling liquor without a licence: 3;
- illegal immigrants: 18.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants were transferred to Lindela Deport Station, from where they will be transported back to their respective countries.
“Station commander Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo thanks everyone who played a role in these arrests,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
