Take necessary precautions in extreme weather conditions
Weather Service warns community of severe thunderstorms, localised flooding and heavy rain.
The South African Weather Service has this morning issued a warning of extreme weather conditions throughout the province.
The warnings include:
- Severe Thunderstorms:
Severe thunderstorm with possible large hail and damaging winds have been predicted with special focus over the extreme south parts of Gauteng (southern parts of the Midvaal municipality).
- Flooding:
Localised urban flooding is possible in parts of Gauteng today, clearing by this evening.
- Heavy rain:
Heavy rain (>50mm/24hours) is expected in parts of the province.
The community is once again urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
