Police and church give their support to feeding scheme

Helping to feed Dukathole's children.

Members of the Germiston SAPS Cluster Social Crime Prevention Unit recently partnered with the Primrose Methodist Church to bring some relief to orphans in Dukathole.

The church and the police joined a feeding scheme to help to feed the orphaned children.

“The coordinator, Linda Stevens, from the Primrose Methodist Church, with the help of Sgt Olga Masethla, joined the fight against poverty in Dukathole by sponsoring food parcels for the scheme,” said WO André de Jager, spokesman for the Germiston SAPS.

The Dukathole Feeding Scheme is run under the guidance of Gladys Morris.

The church has pledged to help sustain the project by sponsoring food parcels every second week.

“The Germiston SAPS Cluster thanks Linda and the Primrose Methodist Church for their ongoing support,” said de Jager.
