The Bertha Gxowa Hospital welcomed just one baby on New Year’s day. The baby boy, named Nkosiyapha, was born at 12.35am by caesarian section. He weighed 2.82kg at birth and was 54cm in length with a head circumference of 32cm. Here, mother Siphesihle Mabaso and baby Nkosiyapha rest together.

The Life Roseacres Clinic welcomed a baby girl to the world on New Year’s day. Miané was born at 5.31am by caesarian section to proud parents Ruaan and Anja Pretorius. The baby girl weighed 3.41kg at birth and was 51cm in length with a head circumference of 35cm.
