Petrol price to drop in February

Motorists are in for a treat when the petrol price drops yet again in February.

The decrease is in line with a continued decline in oil prices.

Though the exact amount of the decrease is yet to be announced the latest update from the Central Energy FundĀ  estimates the drop in the price of 93 and 95 octane petrol at between 97 cents and 99 cents a litre.

The price of 93 and 95 octane petrol decreased by R1.27 and R1.23 a litre, respectively, in January.

The petrol price inĀ Gauteng hit at a record high when a litre of petrol cost a staggering R14.39 in April 2014.
