‘How can we tell when load shedding ends and power outages begin?’

Resident left without power after cable fails.

The Germiston City News recently received a call from an angry Georgetown resident, who said the power in High Road had been off for more than 24 hours.

“How do we know when load shedding ends and a power outage begins?” said the man, who wished to remain anonymous.

The GCN approached the metro to find out the cause of the power outage.

Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe said, “The power supply interruption on High Road was due to a faulty cable, following a blown fuse in the substation, situated at the corner of Railway and Plantation streets.

“The outage was not a result of load shedding.”
