Woman arrested after opening a false case
Woman arrested for defeating the means of justice.
The Primrose police recently arrested a 51-year-old woman after she opened a false case.
The woman went to the station on March 10, where she alleged that her vehicle had been stolen, while parked in Rietfontein Road.
Several days later the woman visited the investigating officer and admitted that she had lied about the theft of the vehicle.
“She explained to police that she, had in fact, pawned her vehicle to someone for R5 000
“When she wanted the car back he refused and she decided to open the case,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The woman was arrested and charged with defeating the ends of justice.
She was later released on a warning after appearing in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
