Dancers from Diana Moore Dance World who are participating are:

  • Terri Anne Shrive:

She is trained by Ashley Moore.

At the latest competition, the Sun City Battle of the Giants, Terri Anne placed first in her solo section and first in her slow dance section.

This year she also competed in three other competitions and placed first in the solo and slow dance sections at all these competitions.

“I am hoping to bring home two first places from Discorama.

“Dancing is my freedom.

“I aspire to be a champion dancer and one day turn professional, so that I too can share the beauty and discipline of dance.”

  •  Andrea Haddon (19):

Andrea is trained by Ashleigh Moore and Robyn Haddon.

She was the runner-up in the Battle of the Giants adult section, as well as second in the 19-25 freestyle section and second in the 19-25 slow dance section.

“It was a great start to the new year of dancing. I’m super excited for Discorama and even more so to represent South Africa at the Freestyle World Championships in Blackpool, England, this June.

“I’m truly honoured and I can’t wait to fly the South African flag high,” she said.

  •  Laylon Saul (10):

The young dancer competed in the Battle of the Giants and was the winner of the Freestyle Solo Rising Star section and placed third in the Freestyle Slow Dance Rising Star section.

She also placed first in both her sections at the Easter Championships.

Laylon is a Grade Five pupil at Colin Mann Primary School, and has had a passion for dance since the age of six when she first started doing ballet.

Ashley Moore has been an inspiration and mentor to Laylon, and has guided her to become the dancer that she is.

“I am thankful for Ashley, I could have not asked for a better coach.

“She has helped me be the dancer I am, and encouraged me to be confident and graceful” said Laylon.

  •  Casey-lee Collett (12):

Started training with Ashleigh Moore in 2012 and in her first year she moved from beginner to championship level.

Casey-lee has qualified for the Freestyle World Championships.

Casey-lee is training hard with her trainer, Ashleigh, and is looking forward to compete in Discorama.

  •  Kayra Schmahl:

Kayra is a Grade Five pupil at Colin Mann Primary School.

Kayra started dancing at the studio three years ago.

Initially she only attended medal dance classes, but upon the recommendation of her dance instructor, Ashleigh Moore, she started participating in competitive dancing.

Kayra has placed first in several dance competitions and she is currently a novice dancer for freestyle fast dancing and a beginner for freestyle slow.

In her last competition, she managed to place fourth in slow dance, out of 13 competitors, and she is aiming to reach the absolute top.

Kayra loves her dancing and is very dedicated and committed to achieving her dream of becoming an international dancer.

  •  Caitlyn Schmahl:

Caitlyn is a Grade R pupil at Colin Mann Primary School.

Caitlyn participated in her first competition on April 18 and placed first out of a group of 32 tiny tots, at the Easter Dance Champs.

Her dance instructor, Ashleigh Moore, has emphasised on numerous occasions that Caitlyn has the ability to reach for the stars.

When music is playing, you can be assured that Caitlyn is wiggling her little body to the beat of the music.

Caitlyn loves music and dancing and she is a natural little achiever.
