Stage one load shedding to be implemented from this morning

Shortage of generation capacity has lead to load shedding - says Eskom.

Eskom is current implementing stage one load shedding.

The announcement follows yesterday’s stage two load shedding, reported to be caused by a shortage of generation capacity, as several units are out of service for maintenance.

This comes after Eskom said its ‘maintenance festival’ over the recent long weekends had been successful in terms of improving the performance of its generators.

Eskom said in a tweet on the company’s official Twitter account (@Eskom_SA) that, “Stage one load shedding has been implemented.

“Unexpected changes on the constrained system could lead to a change in stage at short notice.”
